HOW CLEAR + BRILLIANT WORKS
The Clear + Brilliant system works by creating micro treatment zones in the top layers of the skin. These are then replaced with healthy tissue, which is encouraged and stimulated by the treatment itself. Healthy, younger-looking skin soon replaces the sites treated by Clear + Brilliant about 4 – 6 weeks after the treatment. Clear + Brilliant can also be combined with IPL at the same visit for superior results for those needing help with fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, redness and sun damage.
For those interested in an intermediate and more aggressive form of laser skin rejuvenation, the next step up is the Fraxel Dual followed by the CO2 Fractionated laser.
WHAT CLEAR + BRILLIANT FEELS LIKE
Most patients find Clear + Brilliant to be comfortable and quick. It is most often described as a brief heat sensation. However, there are always options for patients who want to optimize their comfort. In addition to a standard topical numbing cream, you can also opt for Pro-Nox during your appointment.
Pro-Nox is patient-controlled and a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide. This can dramatically improve comfort and decrease anxiety, and there is no drowsiness effect afterward, so you are perfectly fine to drive yourself after the treatment.

Can I get Clear + Brilliant right before a big event or vacation?
Bear in mind that the sloughing period falls within one week of the treatment on average but may last for up to 10 days. Most people will want to avoid big events during this time period. Additionally, it is important to avoid excessive, direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after the treatment as the skin will be especially vulnerable during this period. It is typically recommended to undergo a Clear + Brilliant treatment at least two weeks prior to an event or vacation, and ideally 3 – 4 weeks beforehand.
Can I go back to work after my Clear + Brilliant treatment?
There is only mild redness lasting 24 hours after a treatment with Clear + Brilliant and make up or tinted moisturizer can be applied next morning, so most patients don’t have to interrupt their schedule at all. One day after your procedure, skin might feel a bit like sandpaper but look perfectly normal. This sandpaper feel is actually dead skin cells preparing to slough away. The texture lasts an average of 3 – 5 days.
How many Clear + Brilliant treatments will I need?
The exact number of treatments recommended for each client will vary based on their skin quality, age, degree of sun damage and goals. As with all milder treatments, a series of 3 treatments every 4-6 weeks is recommended to start, however, the average number of treatments is 3 – 6, with maintenance sessions every 3-4 months.
