Is Morpheus8 a microneedling or radiofrequency treatment? It’s both—and it’s now available at Palo Alto Laser and Skin Care. Technically considered part of the microneedling family, it is much more effective than any other kind of microneedling that has come before. It stimulates collagen production with a handheld device that goes twice as deep as traditional microneedling while delivering radiofrequency energy at the desired depth. Microneedling by itself also stimulates collagen production, but with Morpheus8, that’s just the finishing touch. Radiofrequency energy delivered at 4mm kick-starts tissue remodeling at the ideal level, tightening and thickening like never before.
Morpheus8 can be used on men and women of all skin tones and it offers a myriad of benefits. It can help reduce excess fat in the neck and face or address mild sagging in these areas. Morpheus8 can help smooth out rough skin or even out skin tone while minimizing deep creases and lines. Reduce acne scarring and other light scarring, or erase sun damage with Morpheus8. This treatment even helps with enlarged pores and stretch marks. Considered an option for complete facial rejuvenation because it addresses multiple issues simultaneously, this might be your answer for a natural revitalization with minimal downtime.
How to Use Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is often a standalone treatment, but can also be used as a bridge treatment for those who aren’t ready for more aggressive options (such as a facelift). A bridge procedure literally “bridges the gap” with a treatment that is faster, requires little to no downtime, and is of course much more affordable than surgery. It is also a popular combination procedure. You can pair it with other treatments such as laser skin rejuvenation, an in-office facial, or dermal fillers to maximize your results.
This treatment is most often requested on the neck and lower half of the face (the same areas as a facelift), but it can technically be used anywhere on the body. Prior to treatment, a local anesthetic is applied to maximize comfort. Once the skin is numb, a handheld applicator with many tiny needles—all powered with radiofrequency—is passed across the treatment site. Morpheus8 stays on each site for just a few seconds while the energy passes through the needles. The movement feels more like a stamping technique than rolling (which may be what you’re familiar with if you’ve had traditional microneedling).
Why Get Morpheus8
Morpheus8 takes microneedling to a completely different level, from the depth of the needles to the addition of radiofrequency energy, to how it is applied. Right after your treatment, your technician will apply a hand-picked serum to aid in recovery and optimize your results. You will start to see changes right after the first treatment, but remember that collagen takes time to develop. Most clients need 2 – 4 initial treatments to achieve the results they desire. Maintenance sessions every few months can then help you keep those results.
This treatment is an excellent complement to many others, and is often considered part of a more comprehensive rejuvenation therapy. Since all microneedling opens up the skin, right after Morpheus8 is a prime time for a facial. The micro-channels created by the needles allow medical-grade topicals to penetrate to unprecedented levels. This will help you make the most of your treatment and topicals.
Scheduling Morpheus8
Little to no downtime is necessary, though skin may be pink and slightly swollen for a few hours after your treatment. As such, it’s best not to schedule Morpheus8 in the 48 hours before an important event. Starting Morpheus8 in the winter is a great idea because you will be able to achieve and show off the full results by spring break. This is also the time of year when skin can act up and flare-ups occur. Morpheus8 can help to keep skin issues in check and segue you into the upcoming warmer months. We still have a few appointments available before the end of year so you can get started on your Morpheus8 journey now.
